A Moody Winter Wedding

This winter Fairytales by Kelsey took part in a gorgeous styled shoot (aka fake wedding) with a moody winter theme! Creating the feel of this shoot and putting all of the decor together was so exciting and it turned out beautiful. The Lake House in Scappoose hosted this shoot and their rustic barn was the perfect setting for us!

The process of planning this wedding was starting with a mood board and style guide. I started with a rich color pallet of burgundy, copper and dark green and then created this Pinterest board based on that. The color pallet was brought to life by rich fabric in velvet and suede, pine boughs and wood accents.

The tablescape was designed with black plates, charcoal napkins and copper Moscow Mule Mugs. Acrylic table numbers and string lights add an extra touch of elegance.

The dessert table featured a cake by Brown Butter Bakery, cake topper by Northern Country Girl Designs, and hot chocolate signage by Kailynn Summer Design. We loved the idea of a hot chocolate bar for a cold wintry day and the homemade marshmallows were absolutely delicious.

We also did a setup outside, in between spurts of rain, and loved the dark green and grey backdrop which tied in perfectly with the decor. The beautiful florals were created by Flora Design in Scappoose.

The invitation suite and hand lettering was all done by the talented Kailynn Summer Designs who specializes in watercolor artwork and beautiful hand lettering. She created this fun hot chocolate signage, seating tags and invitations.

This wedding also featured acrylic signs by the multi-talented Northern Country Girl Designs who offers all sorts of fun, personalized gifts, signs and cake toppers.

This shoot was created with all Columbia County, OR vendors and we loved featuring our local companies.

C&N’s Baby Shower

Last weekend I was honored to be a part of a baby shower for a baby boy. Fairytales by Kelsey supplied all of the rentals and decorations for the party and it turned out beautiful! The parents did not want to have a character theme the to party, so we chose to stick with the classic blue and white and I made these little building blocks to be a part of the centerpiece.

The party was held at the Holiday Inn Express in Hillsboro and the balloons were done by Bouquets and Balloons. I love how the chair covers, table linens and chair sashes really brought the room together and gave it a perfect baby shower feel.

K&R’s Barn Wedding

This July, I had the opportunity to work with a lovely couple who got married at the Stein Boozier Barn in Wilsonville. The bride and groom used my Ruby package planning and I worked with them from January until July. We picked out some great vendors like El Vaquero Catering, DRB Photography, EC Matrimony, Nana’s Tiny Cakes, White Chameleon Entertainment, and Mystic Gardens Floral for our wholesale flowers.

The barn comes pre-lit with bistro lights and we added to those with twinkle lights and tulle. The aisle was lined with a burlap runner and salal garland. The tables linens were supplied by Fairytales by Kelsey and the wood rounds were created by the bride.

I loved the guest book for this wedding which was a polaroid camera and journal. This allowed guests to take pictures of themselves, paste the photo in the guest book and write a heartfelt message next to their picture.

The dessert included cupcakes for all of the guests and a naked cutting cake for the bride and groom. There were three flavor options for the cupcakes: cookie dough, lemon and chocolate espresso. I have to say, the cookie dough was everyone’s favorite!

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs and may you always find happiness in each other!
